We partner with Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs to identify culture bearers and elders, who provide us with a weekly grocery list and household requests.
We're creating jobs for artists and musicians while helping the people who create the culture of New Orleans.
We organize regular shopping runs at Winn Dixie to purchase the items on each list and deliver them door-to-door. Our produce partner Harvie Farms also provides farm fresh produce boxes every two weeks!
How you do you choose the culture bearers who receive support?
Mostly we connect with pre-existing culture groups like Mardi Gras Indian Tribes, Babydoll groups, Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs. We ask them to refer folks to us who could use some support. This is how we have been able to connect with many amazing people who make New Orleans what it is.
